Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes mascara

" Doll Lash Effect mascara. Wide-eye look"
This is the second HE mascara I've tried ( got a sample size because I expected disappointment). The first was Estee Lauder Sumptuous. Bottom line: everything you read about drugstore being the same as HE as far as mascaras concerned are true, at least in my experience.

This felt & wore as well/long as my Maybelline One by One. I got both in Very Black. My lashes looked the same, whichever they were coated in. Plus the Lancome doesn't say waterproof. I will only wear waterproof mascara. I work in Dishland & everything under the sun can make me cry. The only plus I can give Doll Lashes is that the triangular wand makes it easier to reach corners. Most negative thought: goopy when trying to do my bottom lashes. Someone suggested letting it dry out a bit & giving it another go. Good advice.

Freddy's Favorite : Maybelline One by One

I got lucky with some parts of my body. My eyelashes are not one of those parts. Length is good but my lashes stick straight out. I use a curler everyday. My BFF was blessed with beautiful long bouncy curly lashes. I'll forever be jealous.

So what mascara do I use? Maybelline One by One (waterproof duh). I love how it makes my eyelashes look & the curl holds a couple hours before it droops. Bought a backup since it's sure to go away sometime. Another thing I love about this particular mascara is the wand. There's nothing I would change about it. Somehow get into corners better lol.

Revlon Diamond Lust

I've done very few reviews & these are usually a staple of beauty blogs. I feel like I just am not a good reviewer...I like something or I don't & that's about all I can say.

I grabbed shade Starry Pink (dark or bright colors still freak me out). This does not photograph well at all. From the photo you can kinda tell it's a pale pink shade with TONS of shimmer. TONS OF SHIMMER. Must emphasize that because Starry Pink is pretty much just shimmer. My brush picked it up well. Buuuut...it goes everywhere. I had it under my eye, on my cheek. I don't know if it's just my ghost paleness that makes the pink nonexistent on my lids or what.
Can you tell which eye has it? Sorry for extreme closeup also girlies.

I would not re-buy. This is basically for shimmer. I'm not quite sure what to do with it. Total dud in my opinion. Too messy & no color. There are 4 other colors in the Diamond Lust collection. Maybe they're better but I won't be the one to find out lol.

If any of you would like this, comment & I'll send it your way.
Has anyone else tried these yet??

Review -- Coty Air Spun Loose Powder

First off, this powder has been around since 1935 & never changed (except packaging). I've seen numerous articles declaring it a "cult classic" too. This is a product with reviews from older beauties who have been using it for 25, 30+ years. Impressive, very impressive!!

It's available in Original & Fragrance Free. The FF comes in a blue/green container instead of the  orange like mine. I am really not sure how many different shades there are. I definitely counted at least 9 somewhere online.

What I was looking for:  I wanted to buy a face powder mainly to set my makeup & control some of my oiliness. I've heard that the shades run light, if you are interested in it for color.

I got Translucent. Translucent was also available in an extra coverage formula but I went with the regular one. It even comes with a little powder puff, which I threw away right away lol. I've been using an e.l.f. powder brush for applying it. This was also my first loose powder.

One of the first things you notice about this powder is the perfumey smell. I kinda like it, reminds me of my grandma (even though she never wore this). =) So, that wasn't a deal breaker for me. Also, look at how much you get! This cost me around $5 & will last FOREVER.

The only bad thing I can tell you about Coty Air Spun is that the humongous package is not very practical to carry around. Which sucks because I think I could use a touch up after a couple hours. Especially at work!

Overall, this does what I expected it to. I like using beauty products that have been in existence for many years. It takes some of the guess work out of finding HG products. Makeup Alley ratings: 387 reviews, 4.2 stars (lippies) with 81% repurchase.

Have you tried this powder?

My HG Body Wash

BUY THIS
Yes, I'm 22 & this is labeled "Age Defying". Bit paranoid about aging. I figure now is a great time to start the good fight against wrinkles, age spots & allll that fun stuff.

Looks: white, plain, like a lotion

Smells: light pleasant smell. Doesn't last much past the shower (I like that in a body wash)

MakeupAlley rating: 18 reviews. Average rating = 3.9 with 72% buy again

This stuff is incredibly moisturizing! After my shower I use Johnson's baby oil. These two together makes my skin unbelievably soft. Definitely worth the about $5 it costs at Wal-Mart. I've been using it 2 months. When my current bottle is empty, you can be sure I will replace it asap.

Anyone else have a HG body wash?  I love this one but wouldn't be opposed to trying something new if it's highly recommended =)
